TAPOUT,

Looks GREAT!

Have you updated with a larger exhaust yet? Automaster is fabbing up a true 4 inch turbo back for my car. I would bet you can pick-up a TON of power and flatten out your HP curve in the upper rev's! Boost should be more linear as well!

Mike

The big problem I was having with holding boost is that we originally tuned on the .9bar wastegate spring. I am now running a 1.4 bar spring set up and I no longer taper at all. I am getting ready to do cams and my Meth kit is also done now. I hope to get the cams in next week, and get back on the dyno to see where we are at.

Cams are going in on the 3rd and 4th of June, Putting it on the dyno on the 10th. We will be doing MAP's for 93 pump, pump + 75/25 meth, and VP C16 race gas.

I can't say thank you enough to the guys at Andrewtech and Turbo XS for all of their help.

Kelford 272 cams require machining the head. 264's are on their way to the rescue. Car should be running tomorrow.

Cams are in, car runs. I'm picking it up in an hour. Jermaine from Turbo Xs is going to give it a quick road tune, and we will have it on the dyno Tuesday next week.

Jermaine twisted his ankle, and Dan gave me a road tune to get me through the weekend. We are running pig rich at ~10:1 A/F until the tune on Tuesday. We had to bring 20% more fuel to get us up to where the cams were not leaning out up top. Idle is great, barely noticeable until you feel the difference in power above 5K. I can't wait to tune. I might have to send Jermaine a get well soon card...

Congrats to the OP. I hear you on adding more fuel up top, I had the same issue. STI-LOS, I can almost guarantee his car at idle with those cams sounds very similiar a to stock cammed STI with similar bolt ons, unless he disabled AVCS of course. Once he lets it rip though......HOLD ON.

Bingo. Quiet at idle, monster on the highway. I'll be using the vidcam during and after the tuning session.

What did they say needs machined in the head? I have Kelford 274's and I never had anything machined in my head.

Those things should really bring your car to life on the top end...

According to Kelford's website,
Buy Performance Subaru Camshafts Online - Performance Subaru Camshafts made to precise Subaru Specifications. CamshaftShop.com If you are running 274's, they are not AVCS cams like mine are. The ones that did not clear were 11.3 lift, which is higher than either of our sets.

Now you have me wondering If I miss understood Phil or If I have some kind of custom grind cause he told me that my AVCS was still hooked up. Might have to give him a call and check on this....
