IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2001 | This forum is strictly for dyno plots. If you don't have a dyno graph either get the graph from your tuner and post it, or just put the information in your member journal. I moved the fastest time forum up onto the index page. That forum is for discussion of drag times, sharing time slips, or sharing your experience. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 | This new forum is very informative in regards to comparing what mods can yield what at X psi on a particular dyno model. Suggestion. How about making a sticky and having the most common dyno's and what a STi puts down stock(there will always be a +/- factor) on that particular dyno. Example. STi stock puts down 245hp/tq +or- 12 on a DynoJet Dyno. STi stock puts down ............ +or-12 on a mustang Dyno. Etc. There are only what? 4 or 5 common dyno's for us awd guys. Mustang, DynoJet, DynaPak, and ? How temp and elevation affect performance is covered in Engine performance and also Proven in Time Slip Forums. Maybe a link to those threads in other forums in the sticky. Just some thoughts and ideas. I like this Forums layout and dynograph requirements. Everyone shifts differently andt 60ft is the key which is covered elsewhere to what times are yielded which goes back to elevation and temp all covered elsewhere. Cheers |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 | I know there's a timeslips section and they can stay there. I've personally seen a 25% power range for the same car on different dynos without funny business taking place. That's enough variation that calling a dyno number proven power is just silly and that's all I'm saying. Quote:

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | How about adding "Octane:" to the list of required information? I just saw a thread started which I'm pretty sure involved race gas, but the OP didn't say. I could ask, of course, but I'm actually not even curious as it's not a setup that I'm interested in for my own car... but it got me thinking... octane is just as significant a factor as meth, temperature, or elevation (all of which are part of the template) so it makes sense to include the fuel's octane rating in each thread as well. There's a big difference between 91 and 93, and a bigger difference between 93 and 100+ from race gas. |
