I'm really up in the air right now, that's part of the reason I need to take some test rides to sort things out.

I'm also not sure about getting a new bike. R1's have only been fuel injected since 2003 or so, and I'd definately like a FI bike, so I won't save too much buying a used one anyway... Carbs are cool and easy when they're new, but when they get old they seem to be harder to start and less dependable than older FI vehicles (as is my experience with cars anyway).
Totally understandable. Either way, you HAVE TO get what feels better, in my book. A bike is certainly more rider-oriented than almost any car is driver-oriented. If it doesn't feel right, it's not the right bike for you. Glad you're not one of those guys who just *knows* what bike he wants, goes out and buys it, then realizes after a month that he made the wrong choice because he didn't ride other bikes, or realize that looks aren't everything.

Well.... I definately know that if looks were everything I'd be getting an R1, but I'm much more concerned about drivability... When you've got a higher power to weight ratio than an enzo and only two wheels for stability, you have to know what you're doing. I've heard that these bikes can be pretty tempermental if you dont have a smooth control of the throttle.
