just do lines and better pads. for auto-x you need ones with great initial bite and cold bite. you won't heat them like you will on the track.
i'd check rules before modding at all if you want to auto-x. you can easily mod yourself out of competitiveness.

The 3071 is not all too big. Should spool quicker than stock b/c of the BB. I think it's main benefit is that it has a better top end.
I'm getting the 3076 .63 which sacrifices some spool for top end.
not much, were talking a few rpms. you can't have it all.
but, since it is BB vs JB, it will re-spool between shifts much quicker.

i think those numbers are fairly stock-block safe.
