The contrast ratios can't be compared... 8000:1 is not the same contrast ratio value as the 1800:1 the sony is talking about.

It's an apples-to-oranges contrast comparison... I can't remember the difference. Mine is like 8000 or 10000:1 I can't remember... almost a year old now.

That's a good price for the Sceptre though.
