Default Las Vegas - Night Shots

I took a vacation to Vegas for my birthday and didn't plan on taking any photos. Just in case, I brought my camera and just one lens (EF-S 10-22mm) and nothing else. I definitely plan on going back just to take pictures after what I saw. There were so many great photo opportunities that were just impossible without a tripod and some other equipment that I didn't bring.

Anyway, I thought these came out pretty well for run and gun, hand-held shooting!

those are great shots but vegas isn't for taking photos...

what kind of PP did you do on these? did you do any bracketing or merging because some of those shots look like you "should" have gotten some overexposure (read: last image) but they were very suttle.

No PP in terms of exposure. Just some smart sharpening to correct the blur from hand holding loooooong exposures and on a few some white balance correcting. Otherwise, they are straight from the camera. Nothing like HDR, stacking, bracketing, merging, etc. was used. All are single exposures.

now that I look at the last picture again, it is actually quite underexposed, hence the reason you didn't get much blown highlights. they look awesome and you did a great job considering you were hand-holding them.

I have a couple vegas shots but most of them are blurry or just pure crap because I was drunk...naturally.
