Default Lexus Detail

Well, I thought the Acura I did last year was bad... well this Lexus was in absolutely ridiculous shape. The entire body was covered with scratches, swirl marks, door dings, etc. Lots and Lots of them were too deep to buff out, but I think the finished product looked great... considering.
Before:
This was the general condition of the paint. Scratches everywhere, swirls everywhere.

Long sweeping scratches down the side of the car were very common.

The trunk was used as a table to set crap on... Many Many times.

Door dings, obviously from the same car, over and over and over.... amazing.

Quarter panel from the same door, just..... ouch.

After:
General shot of the exterior, the black is now very deep and very reflective.

Door dings, while not completely taken out, look a million times better.

Quarter panel, 90% of the scratches are taken out, looks crazy better.

Couldn't get everything out of the trunk, but short of a repaint, I don't think you could without burning through the paint.

Swirls are virtually gone leaving only the deeper scratches visible.

Whew, 8 hours of polishing and waxing... well worth it for the money reflection shot.

My Process:
Wash
Clay
Meguiars #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish (x2 on some panels)
Meguiars #82 Swirl Free Polish (x2 on some panels)
Meguiars NXT Tech Wax x 2
Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner

Easily the worst car I've ever worked on, and definitely the worst looking car after I was done, but also easily the most dramatic change. Cheers!

Wow... you know, my Dad has the same car same color, but older model year. I've been meaning to do this also, but his paint is in even worse condition since he parks outside. I need clay and a dedicated paint cleaner.
