i was lucky enough to order one when they first came out. Great lens but the VR only goes so far.

Whooot whoot, my 18-200 VR arrived today. The VR makes a huge difference in handheld shots at long focal lengths, or longer exposures. I'm excited as hell and this weekend in Tampa we have a huge airshow featuring the Blue Angels, as well as the Honda Gran Prix of St. Petersburg (Indy cars and also an ALMS race.) I can't wait. Whoot!

The 18-200 is a great focal range, and one of the best walk around lenses made, but it's just too slow for most of the stuff that I shoot. The Nikkor 17-55dx f2.8 is the lens that almost never comes off my D2x....

finally got a chance to break out the camera and take some more shots with the 18-200 when i went to take a look at my new house and then did a quick photoshoot with the car. i'm not too happy over all with the pics, mostly since i was just feeling un-inspired. i was playing around with angle a bit since a few of my photography friends are obsessed with crazy angles where i guess i still like my 'touristy' photos.

i did notice some lens-creep when it was pointed downward which is a problem with the 18-200. doh!

Finally some playing with over saturation.
