you could get a shot from it and read the info using an exif viewer. there are stand-alone programs as well as programs like photoshop that can read that. it will say Canon XT(350d) or Canon XTi(400d) in the information.

(throws on fire suit with extra nomex)

D80 FTW!

Ya I wish - I actually have a D50 and I love it. 6.0 MP is fine for me. I considered the Canon but didn't like the fit and finish of it as much as the Nikon, plus my dad has few non-digital lenses that I can play with if I so choose to.

It sounds like a good deal considering I paid about $1200 for my set up -

D50 D-SLR Body
AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED
AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED
2 - Quantaray MC Skylight 1A filters
1 - Quantaray Circular Polarizer
1 - Panasonic 1GB Ultra High Speed SD card
1 - EN-EL3a Li-ion spare battery (free )
1 - HP Photo Printer ($100 up front then 2 - $50 rebates)
tax, tags and title
1- enormous Quantaray bag to carry all my crap with me......
