Sorry for hijacking your thread for my own photographic improvements.

I'll link to a new off-topic thread next time. But I still want you to comment on my last shot.

No problem, man -- I don't mind.

The picture of the bike looks good, although it still looks very yellow to me. I spent a little time just now doing some adjustments. I could make this better, but I'm suffering from a touch of a hangover from a little wine/cigar fest last night, so staring at my monitor isn't making me feel too good!

I also cropped out the foliage and the houselight to make the bike more the center of attention.

Next time, try a wider aperture (smaller number) to try to get some more blur on the background. This will make your bike pop a lot better and keep the attention on the bike and not on the homes behind it.

Thats crazy! When I looked at my image I didn't think it look yellow at all (except for the background) but when comparing it to yours its soooo obvious.

I didn't think that a larger aperture would provide DOF. I'll give it a shot tonight again.

Not that you want to hear it right now but I will totally owe you some beers and a smoke. Do you like Acids?

Haha... thanks, man -- I'm happy to help.

As for stogies, I've always wanted to try Acid Roams, but I've never had the opportunity to, and my cigar smoking frequency has dropped to like once a year! Pretty much only do it for special occasions, like birth announcements.

Anyway, see you soon!

Haha... soon! I took some random Subaru pics while I was on vacation in Oregon last week. Legacy/Forester heaven, to be sure!

Thanks again, guys, and take care.

Not cars, but here are some pictures from my recent trip to Oregon (man, I love it up there!). Taken with various lenses (28-135, 60, 100-400L), polarizers, and manual everything.

1. Taken at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, The Dalles:

2. Cherry blossoms in Mosier:

3. Mt. Hood (taken on the drive down from Hood River to Bend:

4. Crooked River Bridge (just outside of Bend):

5. Osprey looking for some food flying over the Columbia River (Hood River):

Yes! My dose of awesome photos has been filled! I really like the Mt. Hood photo, you composed it perfectly, and i dont know why but letter "d" (the silver legacy) almost looks like an HDR image. Thanks again for the shots!

Thanks, Ikon. Columbia, the lighting in that parking lot was tricky... very uneven and of different color temps. Guess I got lucky with the fairly even lighting on (d), both on the car and on the wall behind it.

Here are a couple more:

f.

My girlfriend's father's Dodge Dakota. I love these trucks, and shot some pictures of it as thanks for letting me borrow it for the day to drive around town to shoot photos.

g.

A shot I took in the bathroom as my GF was putting on her makeup... she was a good sport and smiled for me. This was part of a test run of shots with both my camera and flash in manual mode (shooting in different rooms/lighting conditions), and I was rewarded with some nice exposures like this one.

Anyway, hope you like them.

I took this one back in February (no filters on the lens)... it's a pretty standard shot and nothing more than a quick snap at the Huntington Beach Meet & Drive, but I tried some things with the channel mixer and curves, and this was the result. I'm usually not big on desats, etc., but oh well, you gotta mix it up sometimes.

h.
