Also are these pics adjusted in photoshop at all?
I do agree that you get better color and contrast out of better glass but you can fix most of that in photoshop. If you shoot raw like Mike does (I think you do, right?), you can adjust the exposure, color cast and white balance with ease.

If you have the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8, you have a great piece of glass, but I find it to be a little bulky. work on your composition skills as well as how to expose your shots first before you get too worked up in the color and post processing. Those will come along as you get better but I do believe all photos tend to need some adjusting in photoshop.

Definitely! I dig your ride. I'm going to try to keep going to the AWD meet in Tempe and the one out in Glendale on Thursdays on a regular basis. Great group of people.

I have the Canon Rebel XTi also with a sigma 17-70 lens and the Canon 100-400L Both are very nice pieces and cover all my needs except for a very fast lens >2.8. I may look into a 50mm f1.8 lens, seems like a good one to have in the aresnal.

Yes, I always try to shoot in RAW, but sometimes when I'm shooting all day (and I don't have tons of storage at the moment), I'll drop it back to JPG. Nowadays, the tools for JPG are so good that you can do just about everything as easily as you can w/ RAW, so CC, WB, exposure, etc. can be easily adjusted, regardless of format. Adobe Lightroom is a good tool for those who don't work in RAW, but want the flexibility of working in that format.

just so you know, it doesn't matter how good your camera and lenses are if you, the photographer, suck. no offense though.
