Just picked up my XTi tonight, and im lookin thru the manual, but i cant seem to figure out how to change the display on the lcd. Can anyone help? Im lookin thru the manual, but im lookin over things i know cuz im excited. anyways a little help would be appreciated

What aspect of the display are you trying to change on the LCD?

if you are talking about using it to view what your about to take a picture of, im pretty sure you just can use the view finder

sorry guys im excited lol, im tryin to change the LCD to display what the viewfinder is displaying, if its even possible. i like using the viewfinder, but for all intensive purposes i just cant seem to find it in the manual.

nope as far as i know all dslr's only use the view finder

I got the XTi last week. I didn't go with the lens kit, I upgraded to the 17-85IS! Seems pretty good to me!

just to touch up on the DSLR for Dummies guide ():

--SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. SLR cameras are what you call WYSIWYG cameras (what you see is what you get) whereas p&s cameras aren't (usually).
--When you look through the viewfinder, you looking at two mirrors: One that angles from the viewfinder to the ground and another that angles from the sky out through the lens.
--P&S cameras use a video feed to capture their photos. SLR cameras use an actual shutter, which can be heard. some p&s cameras have a true shutter as well but is about 1/50th the size of an SLR and isn't as effective.
