Default Canon sd600?

I am thinking of buying the Canon sd600. I have never bought a camera before so I don't know too much about them. It is pretty cheap and it looks like it takes good pics. And it is small. Is this a good camera? I am trying to stay under $500. Any thoughts?

If your going for a point and shoot, that is a great choice! I used a Canon SD550 before if got my DSLR and i got amazing photos from it! Canon FTW! You wont be disappointed. With manual mode you can do great things, not to mention even in auto you get great pics.
I just looked on Canon's website on the SD600, from the little i looked i dont think it has manual, but still an awsome camera. Also a tripod is a must if you want to shoot your car at night.

im not a canon fan but i'd be stupid to say they weren't great cameras. the newer SD line are definitely good cameras.

Nikon DSLRs are actually better in some ways compared to Canon. Except for noise

The SD600 is a great camera. I may pick one up for ski trips
