It's funny you say that, because I got caught in my first rainstorm today. Not just rain either... it started off as pea-sized hail!

After the hail subsided, I kinda liked it... hunched over the gas tank... made me feel like a squid, literally.

Haha, this is the real beater deal ya'll!!! And it's riced out with a cold air intake. 0-60 in a little less than 5 min.

Here's my beater car. Oh, how I hate this car.

I bought the car as a daily driver / winter beater after blowing the motor on my STI. Picked it up with two bald tires (front pass and rear drivers) and a bent rim. Oh, and it was snowing/sleeting at the time. I drove around for an hour, got lost, and then the car simultaneously ran out of gas and killed the battery.

After finally getting the car home, I put a couple hundred miles on it before 5th gear shredded itself and scattered chunks all around the tranny. I tried changing the tranny fluid (to let some of the chunks out) and found that there was no fluid in the tranny. Filled er up and started smelling tranny fluid...

I got a spare tranny from my buddy who sold me the car, and had another friend install it. Turns out that the former tranny had no axle/cv seals in it, and all the tranny fluid was in the freakin CV boots.

Got the car back with the newish tranny in it, and started smelling brakes burning. Couple days later the car had no brakes. Then the brakes came back. And then they started grinding. While looking into it I found a shot wheel bearing (wheel bearing had a good half inch of play). And I also found that the car needed new pads and rotors on the front drivers. Finally fixed that this past weekend.

Need I say that my Jetta is cursed? I want to destroy this car in the most spectatular way that I can legally, once my STI is done. Was thinking about launching it off a cliff, but I don't wanna get a phone call from the fire department. Might enter it in the rollover contest at the county fair or something like that.

My dad had an '86 Turbo Diesel, that thing was a champ... motor was still good at close to 200k miles, but my cousin hit a guard rail with it.

Now that is a BEATER. AND I indeed hate my beater as well. It's not as beat as your beater though cause' it's never really had anything major break.

I have plans for it to get a 383 Stroker motor that will be in the upwards of 500whp and a T56 Trans (Z06 Tranny), and 3.73 rear gears. Its my baby before the STi and I will die with it...along with my STi and prob a bunch of other cars

Here is the Camaro....and the STi...this was when the STi was basically stock...well prob just had a radiator shroud and a perrin crank pulley....ahhaha thats all I could afford a month at the time...wow!
Beaters usually get good mpg and are A-B and that camaro seems to be a front runner
