Can anyone tell me a good free photo editing package to download...i don't have the money to get photoshop but i really need something cause the one i have SUCKS!!! Thanks

ares is free. then photoshop is free


edit: not telling you to get it illegally, however it is possible

Honestly....nothing can compare with Photoshop when you are talking serious post processing and photo manipulation. It really is worth the cost.....even an older version from eBay. Also....try looking around the for sale board at some of the camera forums. Folks occasionally sell copies for cheap when they upgrade.

If you are a student by chance, you can get PS at a significant discount. Also, if you have ANY old copy of photoshop, like one that came free with a camera, you can upgrade to CS2 for like $180 or so.

GIMP is great if you gots no money...

go to download.com and do a search for GIMP. It is full freeware and does most of the photoshop things people need....

Picasa isn't bad. Very user friendly and will do most simple effects. Free, too.
More of a photo enhancer and album viewer in one.
