Actually it is regulated by the Department of Agriculture.

LASER = LIDAR = Light Detection And Ranging.

Lasergun range is roughly less than a 1/4 mile I believe and the latest models have a device that can tell them if they're being jammed, however various tests showed that these jammers actually work quite well.

Radar is regulated by the FCC.

Radar Jamming is a Federal Offense ($75,000 fine I believe and some jail time)

I was reading an article on the internet how to turn your regular radar detector into a jammer, actually pretty easy.

The top dogs in laser jamming are the Blinder, Escort Zr3 and another brand.

Read more about laser jamming here: http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...ming-tests.asp
And then click around the site, as there is tons of useful info there.

I remember some M5 in the Gumball 3000 who was always dressed up as a Canadian Mountain Man and he had more Radar Detectors and Jamers then a man should have.

I just reread what I just written, and realized its pretty random, but w/e.

Ok here's what I know from my dad's perspective (motorcylce cop). These things work BUT most don't activate until they sense the laser light. SO by the time the light has been registered and jammed the unit already has your speed. Some systems are running constant (all the time) and some activate when the sense the beem......so if your getting one, make sure it's on all the time. Otherwise you just threw 600-1000 down the crapper. mmmmkk?

Since I have no jammers in the back of the car I can get hit there, but I think most laser comes from ahead....basically if I get shot by laser (NOT radar which includes K/Ka)...the police officer's gun will get no reading until I am very very close or I turn my laser jammer off. You're supposed to have your jammer on...get hit by laser...the cop can't get a reading...you slow down to a safe speed...turn on your jammer...and then a cop gets the reading.

You sure about that? I'm pretty sure Cali allows Laser jammers.. Radar jammers ARE illegal here though.

Just wanted to let you all know, it does work.

I was driving to school this morning on a street usually infested with cops when all of a sudden I get some laser on my Passport X50...I'm like ok...whatever...I slow down...anyway, I finally see the cop and he's shooting traffic, he shoots me and my laser jammer noise indicator goes nuts.....and then it happens....his facial expression turned into disappointment and frustration because he couldn't get a reading Anywho I slow down...turn off my jammer, and he finally gets a reading. Made my day

That sucks b/c in MN cops use laser pretty heavily in the cities and it tends to nap quite a few people. Even my V1 rarely gives enough time to slow down.
