Default Buffalo, after the storm

Buffalo got pounded this weekend with snow, I guess something like a record 24" fell in two days. I just got power back in my house this morning at 8 am, the power went out on thursday night at around 10 pm. The heat wouldn't work, refrigerators were out, no electricity, no cable, no internet, no street lights, no GAS STATIONS, thank god for power generators. The thruway from exit 57-47 was closed. I had a hockey game in pittsburgh that we couldn't make it to. I was one of only a few people that were able to plow through the snow with my awd. Had a tree branch come down and pierce the back side of my car behind the pillar. The paint cracked off, leaving a dent the size of a baseball. 350,000 people were without power. There are still power lines hanging down in the street, hundreds of thousands of trees have split in half, and have fallen in the street. It truely is a state of emergency. Here's a few pics, i'll get more up later sometime.

I lost power thursday night, and just got it back on saturday night (just in time for the sabres game ) We didn't have a generator, but luckily had wood to burn in the fireplace to keep warm. All of the trees in our yard are destroyed. It was pretty crazy thursday night just hearing all of the branches/trees snapping.

It started out so innocently thursday with some rain, then it turned into hail when I was at the gas station. I didn't really think much of it because the ground was still warm and the hail would just melt right when it landed. But as you can see from the pictures it eventually stuck lol.

And I nearly found out the hard way that the stock potenzas should never be used in the snow, expecially when they are nearly bald like mine are lol. I nearly put my STi into a ditch going to work thursday night, but was just able to save it. The blizzaks are on there now lol.

Yea man i hear ya. I was at my buddys house on north davis. took me an hour to get from cheektowaga where i work to his house in elma taking the 400, now you and i both knw thats only like a 20 minute trip. It was crazy, i was just using my a/c on the way to class that morning. The trees cracking were crazy, sounded like gunshots. Lucky to have the generator going to see the sabres woop.

Hahha. Yep took my car over to leisure rinks and ripped the hell out of it. Somebody ran into the brick wall in front of hilbert college too after the storm!

I know, but they're still the "summer" wheels and tires, falken ziex 512's. I'm throwing the dunlop m3's on this weekend, perfect timing.

I know it feels being snowed in, a few years back Reno (even though its next to tahoe, doesnt get much snow) had 2 3-4 FOOT snowstorms in 2 weeks, it crippled the city, I had power but could barely get out. The good old '95 Legacy Wagon took it like a champo though(I didnt have the STI then).

Glad you got power back, hope your car gets fixed soon!
