Default A quick set

just a few shots with the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VR I was renting from Rentglass.com:

I refused to use my tripod on some because I hate it and after taking nearly 30 shots, I realized I should have because about 20 of them came out very blurry, even with the VR turned on. I love this lens but may look at the Sigma because its much cheaper. As always, I appreciate any feedback.

after seeing some of these next to each other, I do realize that my WB was off. I need to set it again...

Nice looking shots Parker. I was going to say that the WB looks a touch off, but you noticed. The day shots look a little underexposed too.

I like the composition on #3.

thanks. most of the shots are underexposed mainly because I hate overexposed shots. I'd rather stay under than over. plus I tend to burn too much...!

I was lucky enough to shoot on a sunday without many cars around (actually this shot had one but I got rid of it. ) this lens gives you incredible DOF with great bokeh. plus after a little bit of levels, contrast, burning and erasing, you get what you see!

I guess when you're a pro the secret to photography isn't taking as many shots as possible huh? i dunno how you could when your car is in the middle of the street

hey hey now, im no pro but i've done a fair amount of shooting. there really is no secret especially since there are many facets of photography. in sports photography, yes, you need to shoot ALOT! but in this type, you don't. I was lucky enough to have a clear, long street with very few cars on it (again, sunday around 7:30pm) and I had to wait out there for about 5 minutes before I could get a shot without cars coming towards me.

if there is one secret, its patience.

Looks good! Did you use a circular polarizer at all? The reason why I ask is it looks like you got rid of glass reflection in most of the shots except for #2. I think #2 would look really good if there was more definition in the sky.

no polarizer. some where just shot at good angles but I also used my burn tool a little lighter in those areas and it removed most of it.

I do wish there was more sky definition in #2 but I like some dead areas of certain photos for things like backgrounds and such. Gives me a place to put my stickies!!!
