Dont mean to threadjack, but here are a few pictures I took last week when I went up to Pikes Peak.
Being up at 14thousand feet killed my car I absolutly had no power, but it was fun none the less.

Up close to the top.

For those of you who are nervious about having no gaurdrails I assure you it's safe......As long as you stay on the road.

How hot did the brakes get going down the mountain? I want to go Mt Washington in my car (in NH), but the narrow sketchy road creeps me out.

What height is the "timber line"? Just curious to know what 14k ft is like.

I didn't have problems with brakes. I actually did a lot of engine braking because my brake pads where almost gone

Timberline was approx 11,500 feet on Mt. Evans. I have a picture of that somewhere.

The road isn't creepy. It not like you have to speed up and down the mountain like it is a rally!! Just cruise along and pay attention and no problems.

Ya. I was in Colorado Springs they day I drove up. I just didn't feel like waiting till 7am for it to open up. Wonder if it will be 24hrs after they finish paving/installing guardrails.

I could feel some power loss, but it wasn't a big deal for me. More for the fun factor.
