Thanks. I've been taking so many pictures I forgot that I had that shot.

Here's a few more recent ones with a friend's car:

On a side note, I was pretty excited this week when I got an email from someone who wanted to use a couple of my pictures to enlarge and print out to decorate his new office when it's renovated. He's the manager of the cemetary where I took these pictures:

He printed them out in 11x14 in card stock and is sending me copies, but in the meantime he also showed some else the pictures. So I got this email last night:

I'm working on a small project; filming an event that he is staging later on this month.

He showed me the two photos of yours that he recently acquired.

I was wondering if it might be possible to use one of them?

I've taken the liberty of including it on a test website, that I will shortly be launching.

The clip will give you some idea of the way that I plan to use it.

Rest assured that I will not use your image in any of my work, unless or until you give me permission to do so.
It's a totally new experience for me and I thought it was pretty cool. He'll be done the project probably at the end of October and he'll send me a copy of the DVD .

The green lighting at the top of the Hanc0ck tower was a mellow green that night, and the building next to it (with the two lights at the top) was also a mellow green. Yet, I couldn't expose it just right to get that mellow green lighting that I could see with my eye - it kept burning out, as seen above (regardless of the shutter speed and aperture settings. A different ISO may have helped? ). Anyone that has tips for how to accurately capture these nighttime scenes, PLEASE let me know!
When you first posted this, I had no idea what the solution would be. Now, I think the answer is: "HDR"

Take multiple (over/under) exposures of the same shot and combine them into an HDR (using something like Photomatix) and then tone map it. That should allow all areas of the image to be properly exposed.

are you guys using tripods, freehand or just sitting the camera on objects, obviouly using the tripod and the timer, for exposing, and no flash are the best options, just wondering how you went about them, slowing down the iso especially on water makes it look so mystical great pictures guys

It really depends on the situation. A tripod is definitely the best choice for low light and long shutter speeds, but I'm usually too lazy to carry one around. Most of the night shots I take are with a tripod--or some other stable base I can find. During the day, it's all hand-held for me.
