Thanks guys!
Kuppa- Ill try my best to be at the next one! Hopefully I wont be too busy when it comes up!

Flyinbysti/psuLemon- I think the RB26 is a good option if the RB20 were to go on me (*fingers crossed it doesnt*). I will track the car occasionally this summer, but I did its first and last drift competition in those pics, I saw too many cars get totaled! Ill go to lapping days with this thing for sure...
Thanks for the comments guys, they are very appreciated!

Dan

I'm not sure this is completely accurate. To my understanding if the vehicle is 15 years or older the vehicle is allowed into the country, but still must be moddified to meet our requirements.
These imported vehicles must have and not limited to SAE or DOT approved headlights, safety belts, approved windsheild glass thickness etc.

In manitoba, the public insurance company is coming down hard on anyone safetying these imported vehicles without the approved safety equipment.
I am very curious to see how this situation will play out. To my knowledge you can't get Skyline headlights etc that are dot or sae approved.

For mazda rx7 fd's, toyota mr2's etc that have a North american version i would imagine you can get the proper safety equipment. But to swap all this stuff over to make the vehicle compliant defeats the purpose of having something JDM.

Does anyone else know what is going to happen or the exact legalities of this situation?

^Hmmm, of course there is more to it than just the blinkers, but from what I was told the tires had to be replaced in the rear (bald) and the blinkers and a few lighting wires needed to be fixed but that was it. No speak of the glass, bumper beams, belts etc at all, m friends with the guy who sold me the skyline and I see him quite often.

But I would do a gts-t again if I had to becuase I like the RWD layuot, im tired of AWD with subys a bit (in summer only). I did do a drift competition with it as soon as i got it actually

And you are exactly right on ther laws regarding importing cars to Canada. Basicly, my blinkers need to work, but other than that there is no restriction as to what is done to the car. And everyone is surprised as to how much they cost! I tell people 16k canadian and they say "60k?, not too bad man!"
wow, lucky you
