I got the ContiExtremes on...and in dry weather they are noticibly squirmier than the RE 070s (which I expected) but in the snow I haven't had a problem yet. Though they aren't as good as Pirelli PZeros on dry pavement, I picked the Contis because they are rated better for ice than the PZeros. I figured it would be the closest to a winter tire while still offering some Z-rated performance.

This is exactly what my observations were, too.

Just don't push the Contis too far in the dry and they work just fine.

Haven't had any fun in it yet, but here's mine... all tucked in w/ her blankie!!

^ I really need to do something about that gap. Maybe when the snow melts!!

word of advise, get ri dof those tires and get either all seasons or go to tirerack and buy yourself some winter tires and wheel package. Speaking from experience, this sucks a lot....for high snow.... those slicks won't cut it....

Those are my winter wheels and tires. Falken Ziex M/S all seasons:
