I agree on the 3 images vs just 1 image (usually a RAW file). I appreciate the comments, and again, it's all personal opinion when it comes down to post processing. I am by no means professional either, just a hobby/passion more than anything else.

There are a lot of different ways to process HDR images for the desired final result, and I've seen a lot of discussions on this very topic. What is considered HDR vs not, and most people seem to come to the consensus that the beauty is in the eye of the beholder esp with the post-processing and desired result.

What would you have done to make them better? Got any examples?

For my example of over-processed, I give you the following: Now, this is not too bad, but the car looks like a video game while the rest of the image looks fairly realistic. Some I have seen are much worse.

Here is something that pretty much sums up what I am trying to achieve with HDR. Quoted from another site on HDR with tutorials and examples....
I agree that this type of photography, and photography as a whole, is all in the eyes of the beholder...very true. but what it seems like you failed to do was think about your surroundings (multiple roof lights that seemed to make stars on the cars) and a greyish background that is already boring to begin with doesn't really make the scene all to inviting.

The simple form of HDR, which is what I was thinking you were going for, helps to eliminate shadows and highlights and you still have a lot of shadows and highlights in your photos. Also, with a grey background and a grey car, you are getting rid of the actual grey by introducing the other colors in the spectrum, thus making the car look less grey and more rainbow'y.

If you are trying to achieve the above image, you'll need to take it from your HDR program and begin post processing in photoshop and it isn't a simple levels adjustment.

ahh, I gotcha! It's hard with a gray and black car. Such plain colors with nothing to really jump out at you. I've done a few others I really liked. Here are a few other HDR's I did when I first started playing with it. What are your opinions of these then? I definitely enjoy the feedback!

the 1st bike image is a great example. well done. the others are a little too saturated for my taste, especially the outdoor ones. the burn tool comes in very handy during that time...

The black rims look sick on the limited! Your jeep is bad ass too! Keep up the good work.

Parker, Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Photomatix is a difficult program to work with as there are so many adjustments. Looks like I'll be playing with it some more!

Thanks for all the comments as well from everyone else!

No problem at all. Photomatix takes a lot of getting used to but don't stop there because you *should* also edit the photo in photoshop as well because levels, curves, etc., all still need to be adjusted to get rid of some of that rainbow'y look.

The STi is on the Ohlins struts with either the yellows or blacks for the springs IIRC.
