I started this thread on NASIOC sometime last year and it has been pretty popular over there so I thought I would bring it over here to share with you guys as well. There has been a little story line in my NASIOC thread beginning with me going to the 'Ring, the day I crashed my STi last October then began a full rebuild into a GT30R'd STi all the way until now.
I live in Germany and head up to the 'Ring pretty often. I am what would be called a "Ringer" (Ringer is someone that is pretty much addicted to the 'Ring) though I may only do a few laps in a weekend (STi's burn 1/4 tank of Gas in one lap and you'll only get about 20 laps out of a set of brake pads), some of my other Ringer friends (mostly Lotus owners from the UK) Ring a lot more often than me (A Lotus can do 20 laps on a tank of gas and go forever on a set of brake pads). If you have been to the 'Ring and wish to publish pics or video in this thread, feel free. This thread is for everyone to enjoy. For anyone interested in visiting Nordschleife, here is some important information:

Alright IWSTI, I lost control on the Ring yesterday (14 October 2007) and after 2 360's, I smashed into the wall at about 30-40 mph. Sad thing is I didn't have a passenger and since my camera mount hadn't come in yet, I wasn't video taping at the time. Well there are so many nice cars at the Ring every weekend. I take about 70 pictures on average everyday I am there but I only post about 10 of them. Anyway, here's some pics from this weekend.

*UPDATE
Well after 2 weeks in the States collecting more parts for my car, I returned to Germany only to find out that the car is still not repaired. There was a bit of frame damage on the passenger side. Notice in the first pic in the passenger side inner fender (light green area), you can see where they had to cut that section out and repair it. The good part is that the engine was dropped and the shop let me do a little bit of work on the car. I changed my front shifter bushing and spark plugs all in about 15-20 minutes. That's gotta be record time lol. I was going to throw in my WL steering rack bushings as well but I can't get to them right now. Here's some pics of what the car looks like as of yesterday:







My UR GT30 Turbo kit and FMIC have arrived and are sitting comfortably in my living room. This would be the perfect opportunity to install everything huh? But I thought I would wait until they put everything back together to make sure the engine is working and they didn't mess anything up. OK Here's a couple new pics for the thread. Not really 'Ring related but cool none-the-less. This is the UR GT3076R Turbo kit and UR Version 1 FMIC with supporting mods I am installing in my Subaru. I'm taking out my UTEC and going with a tune on my new Cobb AP. Stephen from IA Performance will be coming to Germany to help me out and conduct the tune.
I did manage to finally get some older 'Ring pics off of my friends camera and I'll load them up as soon as I reduce them.

I am sorry about not being able to load up the video from my previous 'Ring trip. I went this weekend and I have never had a better time. Handsome_Rob came and a couple of my English Lotus Elise friends were there so we had a hell of a lot of fun (and a little bit of beer drinking afterwards).
This was the first time on the track with the new GT30 turbo setup. I experienced serious brake fade very early into the first lap and it really bothered me. The other bad thing I experienced was on the backside when I was able to open her up real good, my EGT's shot up to 1000 degrees celsius. So my laps were not that great because I was very concerned with the EGTs and brake fade. The good news is that I accomplished my goal of being able to hang with Porsche GT3's in the straights. In the long run they got away from me because with the brake fade, I had to brake way way early.
The Camera Nazi's were out in full effect and they were checking every car for cameras. One guy was banned before he got on the track because the track marshalls said that they had seen his videos on YouTube. So needless to say, I didn't get any video this weekend. Anyway, here's some pics.

The track was perfect. I could not have asked for a better day. I had just finished up installing new Stoptech SS braided Brake lines last week and Ferodo DS2500 brakepads with a new ACT 6-Puck cluch and ACT Streetlite flywheel the morning before I went up to the track. I also took out my Hallman manual boost controller and installed a Prodrive boost control solenoid. Stephen from IA Performance flew in and he conducted a retune my car on the way up to the 'Ring. We turned the boost down a bit so I'm only running 20.5LBS now. It helped out considerably and my EGT's never shot up above 900C on the backside. The Ferodo DS2500 brake pads performed awesome and I'm stoked to have used them (zero brake fade).
We met up with some Irish Subie owners and had a blast. I took a ride in one of their GC8's in the passenger seat and the ride was phenominal. I did get some video from that ride so give me some time to reduce it's size and get it hosted on the internet.

Stephen from IA Performance came to Germany last February to install my GT30 kit and tune my car as well as conduct an engine swap on a WRX wagon and tune a couple other USDM Subies. The day he got here I took him up to Nurburgring to get him adjusted to the local culture and help work out his jetlag. Here is a link to the video we worked up (I am driving, he is in the passenger seat, and yes I was slow because it was February and there was still ice on the backside of the track, I ran a 10:15 and a 10:14, about a minute slower than normal):
