The idea you were going for in the 1st photo is very original but I don't think it was done as well as it could have been. Im thinking if the sun was to your back and you brought the car out further onto the tracks (scary, i know), I think the photo would look better.
Atta boy............I agree I'm gonna get to a different set of tracks. I'm gonna get the car closer to the camera and have more track flowing to the back ground.

All the pics were taken about 10 minutes til sundown. Here's one of the pics untouched and the PS'ed a touch.

hmmmm...I look at the original and think the white balance is off but I also see an odd color cast too. I don't think this is your fault, I think this is just a mixture of colors that don't really compliment each other. If anything, i'd try just giving the building some contrast while leaving the car as is...then again, i'd also say find a better building.

i wouldn't consider myself a professional by any means but I did/kinda still do use photography as a small source of income. without giving you much detail, yes I am a photographer and yes I have been published in different channels (magazines, ads, websites, billboards, etc) while these aren't always ways to prove your skills, knowledge or abilities, they're a small introduction of my background.

Im always ready to lend a helping hand to others who are (and sometimes those who aren't!) in need of ways to improve their photos. instead of giving the default "nice shots" response, I give them my honest opinion. some can, and some can't take it. those who can are very strong willed and driven individuals whereas those who can't are static and traditional individuals (most of the time). nothing wrong with either but being the latter in photography doesn't always work out for the photographer or the client, if any.

so if you're not ready to accept clear and blunt criticism from me and maybe a few others, please state that in your thread should you wish to post some pictures.

but not to go too far off-topic, that's a little about me and that's about all you're going to get...at least in this thread!

besides that first image being out of focus, the colors look much more natural now. The 2nd image has a much better look to it, but I still don't care for the yellow.

how does it look in B&W?
