Default Obp 05

This one goes out to Parker...

These are just for fun pics, I have no experience whatsoever and the camera is a very plain digital. I like the effect of sepiatone too as you can tell.

Criticise away... right Parker? I was just tryin to get some good shots of the shine thats all.

Emphasis is a big part of good photography, so think about what you're trying to emphasize and go from there. For my money, you're too choked up on the car, give it some space, let it breathe and be mindful of your background.

Just my .02¢.

and for my follow-up, if this was your purpose then don't get caught up in the sephia or the blue tint.

The background (trees & rocks) reflect onto the paint and take away from the shine you were trying to achieve. Look for open valleys or areas where the reflection will be constant across your subject to show off shine. Plus, you want plenty of natural light to achieve this too.

Speaking of Ultimate Lurker, take a look at a few of his past threads and you'll see pretty good examples of how to show off the shine.

Well, I don't know what camera you're using , but a polarizing filter would be a good idea. There are way to many reflections on the car(very distracting). For simple photography please refer to the rule of thirds. If you're going to get very close to the car, it would be best to focus on a certain part or piece. The blue tint and the sephia aren't doing you any favors at the moment.

Keep in mind I'm no expert and I ask to get abused fairly often. Keep clicking and you'll only get better with the right guidance.

+1 on the Polarizing Filter, unfortunately he's using a FinePix A340, so I don't think he can get one.

Parker has it right, if you want to show shine, look for a place on top of a hill that has very little scenery, then take advantage of low light (sunset), just make sure to bring your tripod.

I told you, it's like a pocket digital that a girl would have ha, my sister bought it. So it's basically just point and shoot, at least maybe I can practice getting a better stock photo from now on though.

If you're looking for an awesome P&S camera for like, no money, check out the Olympus Sp-350, I got mine for $205...shipped, and it's an 8 megapixel, takes awesome pix. You will need to get a Li-Ion CRV-3 battery tho', it'll eat normal rechargables in 5 shots.
