Marlboro Hot Laps : Darlington

So I get this letter in the mail from Marlboro saying I'm specially invited to attend a racing experience where I (and a friend) will get to do a ride-along in an IROC racecar on an oval track and a Formula Drift car on a drift track. I called the phone number and confirmed it was all legit and my wife and I were on our way to Darlington!

The IROC car cut-away:

HUGE oil cooler.

Indy car on hand...One seater=no ride along. :-(

The weather was starting to get bad and a storm was rolling in so we had to rush over to the drift track and get our laps in quickly so there was really no time for photos. It was still a blast to slide sideways on someone else's tires!

All in all it was a great day and I had fun. The staff was friendly and the drivers were awesome to talk to. (My IROC driver got his start in SCCA auto-x driving a Subaru SVX and my drift driver told me he owns an STi too ;-)
