Default Block Posters

Block Posters - Create large wall posters from any image for free!

This has been out a while, but I just found out about it...pretty cool...

You upload a pic, divide into X amount of pages, the website converts to .pdf and you print.

I did one today, took like 25 mins...mind you, I didn't get picky about the spacing / cutting, but I'll make a really nice one soon...

Don't mind the pos camera / printer...

Here's the original pic:

Here's the poster:

COOL COOL.....i've been using a different online program since about 03-04.....worked pretty good for a massive poster in my college dorm!!!!!

>risky name, GREAT program either upload or use internet address....
The Sect of Homokaasu - The Rasterbator

Name is derivative of the word "raster" which basically mean to break into blocks or pixels, which make up these big pictures

I'd say try both programs.....never seen a new one....

heres my pics from "rasterbator"

BTW yellow highlighter on the wheels/logos...for BLACK-LIGHT reflectiveness...it was college right? also the center sticks out because of a pin board behind the poster.

WoW, never thought of that....It'll be pretty spendy to get 8x10's but I suppose the quality would sure offset the price if done well.

Import them into photoshop in CMYK format and 300dpi and crop to bounding box, idk try messing with it but that worked for me. Then you can make the image size fit within 8x10 and save to JPEG or a higher res. format that Walgreens/CVS can print, and cut them out and paste!!!

....makes sense right?....haha

OK after trying both programs, I came to these conclusions which you can use to decide what program would be best for your needs.

O.P.s..."block poster">>>

-only blows up the picture supplied meaning the original should be extremely High Res. to look good the more pages you use or bigger the poster. great for personal car pics in say 2k by whatever resolution.

-better quality for an up close montage, say for a hallway in your house
_____________________________

"rasterbator">>>
-doesn't look as good up close as its meant for farther viewing>>great for DORM windows.....I would know....those were good times!! or for blowing up a picture of your R.A. and pasting it on his/her door!!!

-picture doesn't need to be high res.

-actually rasterizes the image into pixels rather than blowing the image up meaning you can go as tall as a 1 story buidling and it would still look the same.

Not trying to knock your GREAT find RFFG, after using the one you posted I just wanted to share the differences between the one I was using and yours.

Oh and another FYI on "rasterbator" you can change the options to have a smaller "dot" size idk what is it like 10mm i can't rmbr, but the smaller "dot" option works best for smaller posters....
