Default So... anyone seen the new Canon XSi?

Well i've decided that my next big money spending hobby is probably going to be photography. I have done a TON of art in my life and a bit of photo... now i'm an architecture major.

Anyways, i read through Ben's Digital photo guide and started looking at the entry level Nikon's and canon's.

Was on the canon website tonight and i found this sweet little thing:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi

I guess it'll be the same jump as the XT to the XTi was.

My step dad has an XTi and i think i know how to use it better than him, it's a sweet camera. Was thinking of picking one up for myself until i stumbled upon this one. It's supposed to come out in April and if it's not too much more over the XTi i might grab it come summer.

What do you all think? Or maybe just save my cash and grab the XTi with some lens upgrades of something....

Just thought i would share my life story with you all, along with this new camera.

Mike

I'm no camera buff, but from a quick glance it looks like the same upgrade from the XT to the XTi. .5 inch bigger screen, another 2.1 MP, same shudder speed...

I tried to look if you get any better of a lense but i couldn't find it... don't really know where to look.

Looks like a bump in megapixels, a little bigger screen, and the live view mode are the major upgrades.

I wouldn't say it's worth getting rid of an XTi for an XSi, but if you're buying a new camera anyway you might as well get the new hot toy.

looks like a nice bump from a XT though. I have an XT and have been looking for a new cam and really havn't been doing too many model shoots lately so I didn't want to pop out for a 5D or anything yet. This might just be my solution.

L Glass makes up for a okay SLR. In my mind.

XTi are a good deal these days around $500. What prices are the XSi selling at?

XTi sounds a lot like "STi" when said aloud.

no price listed yet, doesn't release until april. But i won't be picking up a camera until summer, so maybe i'll just snag the XSi.
