Christmas Candids... Wii action and pet pics, too!

Hi everyone,

First of all, I hope you're all enjoying the holidays! Anyway, I recently spent an early Christmas up in Oregon with my fiance (I live in Arizona, so this was a "bit" of a change weather-wise!), and between huge meals and constant snacking, I dusted off my camera and snapped up some candid shots throughout the weekend... it was nice to not shoot cars for a change. I hope you like these.

All shots were taken in M with a 400D, 17-40 f/4L, and 580EX topped w/ a Sto-Fen diffuser. This combo worked out really well in the limited space I had to shoot. Although I wouldn't have minded going wider, I felt the low distortion in these shots would be more pleasing to the eye. Thanks in advance for looking!

On this trip, I seemed to bring the funny side out of the kids... see a pattern forming here? =)

8. Finally, a shot of my fiance's Rottie, Cassie Rae... she likes relaxing on her back! And yes, she's an old lady and now has a white beard! We still love her to death, and she's a sweetheart.

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone! I'm glad the fun we had over the holidays was successfully conveyed through the pictures.

Accurate color was my goal, and I think that for the most part, I hit my target... none of these were adjusted for color balance/temperature or saturation. Only levels (due to me still learning how to hit correctly w/ the flash), healing, some slight shadow/highlight work, and USM for the web.

^^^ Thanks... she's my favorite of the bunch (they also have a Miniature Schnauzer and a Terrier mix).

Straight up, rotated 90 degrees.
