Default EF Lense

anyone have any experience with the canon EF 70-300mm III telephoto??

seems too good to be true. read a lot of reviews from people saying its a good entry level lense, images are blurry at 300mm, to others that say its a great lense...

anyone here have any input?

thanks in advance

I THINK thats the one I have. Ill check when I get home..(~$200?)

..if it is..stay away. Even at 70mm the pics are very soft.

it isn't a horrible lens but no one really cares to give it good reviews because it tends to be more soft than sharp. entry level shooters who would still print out the blurriest photos possible from their p&s cameras won't mind this lens and will probably think it is 10x sharper than the images from their previous camera.

if you can save up some money, look at the 70-200 f/4 non-IS. I believe it is L glass too so you'll get the great glass, good quality and a very well built lens.
