Default Sti limited and D40x

Car rolled over 4000mi today and I picked up the Nikon. Felt like I was missing out on capturing these special moments. I wanted to get some input on the pics. Whats good, bad or ??

Gear: Nikon d40x, kit lens 18-55, (first slr)
Lighting was terrible.

Any tips on shooting cars from the masters?

Any comments welcome, Thanks guys.

I am no photo guru, but as far as I can tell those are good, 'cept for some of the lighting. That aside, beautiful car.

Hmmmm...not feeling the all-leather interior...send it to me immediately!

Seriously though, the pics look good. Pic 2 & 3, the top part of the front of the car by the windshield looks like it's getting lost in the dark spots a little. Maybe play around with the exposure a lil?

Pic 1: I like the composition - maybe change the angle a lil to have the car framed at more of an angle to give it more feeling of speed & movement?

How are you liking that camera?

Thanks for the comments on the ride and pics. The camera is great, I am new to slr's so all the options are insane. I have gone through the manual 3 times and its starting to soak in.

Nice setup! I have a UGM Limited as well...Is that campus SDSU? If so, let's meet up...I am a photographer and I just ordered a D300
As for the pics, pretty good but shoot in full shade or on a cloudy day. Night photos would be good but keep your ISO as low as possible and use a tripod (Your ISO was too high and there is a lot of "noise" . Shoot in RAW and edit them in photoshop or picture project.
