Default jgheels2003 '97 Supra (wheels painted! pics pg.3)

Well, I miss hangin around this site from my 2004 STi days, and I do plan on having another one at some point in the future. So now that the Cobra and Z06 are gone, I figured I post up the Supra

1997 6 speed 550whp on 93 octane

110K+ on the clock, ~3000 miles on the current shortblock, new head, turbonetic T70, HKS FMIC/DLI/titanium catback (which is loud and going to go) 1000cc injectors, dual stock pumps, and a bunch of other stuff. The car will get a new paint job, new interior freshening up, and I'll try to update all the progress that might prove interesting. All my rides end up clean, this one will be much the same.

wow, congrats. And to be able to all that power down nice, maybe some wider tires are needed. Is it on AEM? By the way, T70 is old turbo technology so if you want to upgrade, look into a 71mm dual-ball bearing with a billet compressor wheel from precision.

Be careful out there, rear end can kick out, I remind myself after I am so used to driving a all wheel drive car so much.

Thanks! Yeah its on AEM, a finicky bastard, but still the standard at this level. You are right about the turbo, I'd look at exactly what you described after I get the car cleaned up! I am going to put on some Nitto 315's at some point b/c it does loose it in second sometimes. The rear wheels are widened to 12 inches and the street tires on their now (315's as well) won't be on long.

Thanks! I actually did get a pretty good price, in terms of Supra prices hehe. Right now I'm leaning towards painting it black. Its hard to go wrong with that (there is an OEM black), and doing the engine bay wont be that bad especially since its won't be that much darker inside. If I do that I may have the wheels painted gunmetal or something similar.

As for power, I just want to run pump and 550 is plenty, but as blindfold said upgrading to a slightly newer, more efficient turbo is in the plans down the road.
