IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | So, after Drew (T3h_Clap) pointed out to me that I could make a non-STi journal, I decided why not.... For those who don't know me or my 07 OBP Suby, here's a link. Bishop's STi - Boulder, CO - Sold Now, the reason the Subaru was sold is because I'm going back to school full-time and not working. So, I decided to find something for a reliable DD, that I could mod and have fun with at the track. My buddy turned me onto e36 BMWs, so I started looking at M3s. Well, I wasn't finding much, and was learning more about the e30 being a more reliable car with less **** that breaks. So, when I stumbled across one in great shape with a really strong history, I jumped on it and have been havin fun since. The car is a 1990 BMW 325i, 5-spd, just rolled over 200k miles like 2 days ago. I'll do my best to keep track of the progress here in the first thread and keep a running parts list. *I know some of the photos are not the best quality. Get over it, they're for representation purposes, If I take some nice pics they'll be added later* List of posts / progress Last edited by Bishop; 07-18-2009 at 07:41 PM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | The Day I brought Her Home: Miles were under 200k so I was happy about that. It rolled over like two days ago though. Came with all the service books and manuals. Only thing missing was the glove box flashlight I believe. Car also has an extensive service history on record so I didn't even bother with carfax. Hell, it's a 19 year old car, I did not really care anyway. But I did get a free pre-buy on it and got to check everything out myself before buying. The car had new rear shock mounts installed as I went to the bank for some cash. And..... I got a full tool tray. I guess a full tool tray in the e30 world is like having an 07/08 STi that was constantly pinged at redline and had no piston failures lol. It looks like it's missing some stuff to me, but the people on an e30 forum said it's complete. I wonder if some of the missing pieces were model specific to the 325iX (awd) or another model. Also, I had a sandbox to play in. The day after I brought the car home I removed the majority of the interior and went to town with a steam cleaner, which helped immensly. I also pressure washed and de-greased the engine bay, to an extent, so I could at least work in there. After some much needed tint Also put some new rubber on the car since the tires were bald when I got the car. I bought the cheapest tires I could find just to get around on because a better looking / fitting setup is underway. The stock wheels are not appealing, but they will work fine in the winter. IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | Might as well start the mod posts here eh? THIS IS A PHOTOSHOPPED PICTURE OF WHAT THE CAR MAY LOOK LIKE SOON, NOT THE ACTUAL CAR. One mod that I have already installed and am enjoying thoroughly would be a Mark D chip. Unfortunately no pics, but a link to help promote him. He's a very skilled BMW tuner up in Canada, and I'm quite happy with the results of my chip on a stock motor. http://www.dsylva-tech.ca/ Last edited by Bishop; 07-18-2009 at 05:33 PM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | Yeah, stay tuned I'm adding more as i find the time. Yeah, its not exactly a looker, but its fun to drive, and I'm hoping it will be even more fun after i get the suspension on. Haven't mentioned it in above posts yet but I'm waiting on a set of wheels and I've gotta order some tires for em. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | So, I'm not quite sure how I'm going to organize the journal, but I figure I'd at least post this up for now. Group Buy for some BBS RC replicas. Hyper Black, 17x8 +25, going to be running 235/40 Dunlop Star Specs, and I'm told all I'll need to do is roll the fenders. I'm pretty stoked. Wheels were paid for like a month and a half ago, just a waiting process now. Expected delivery of early to mid-August. Plenty of time to order some tires and rent a fender roller. Oh, and they're going to be a 4-lug. The e30 M3 is a 5-lug and these pics were from their group buy that happened a while ago. |
