Damn CLK500 surprised me, he was driving like an ***, but I didn't think he was going to race when we lined up (no indication anyway). I didn't launch, I was stuck at his rear bumper from 1st to the beginning of 3rd and had to shut it down.

All done on a desolate street, with no posted speed laws broken.

Sorry but here is the reality!

Street racing can be the most dangerous deadly stupid immaturely executed thing ever!

Street can can also be totally safe.

So no reason to hate on someone unless you were there and know the specifics of the situmaaawation.

Also street racing is a large part of Americas car roots and a large part of what the industry became/desired.

SO..........without street racing you probably wouldn't have your sti today.

So if ya don't like it read a different thread, no ones forcing ya!

HAHAHA! Amen! The only 3 occasions I've decided:

  • Guy in a 300m tailgating me all the way to the freeway until we actually had to turn onto the onramp and by the time he caught up I had slowed...he proceeded to roll his window down and ask what I "had in that thing". I said a 2.5 liter.
  • Guy in a Porsche Cayman S who decided to buzz by me on a 2 lane road to the freeway b/c he didn't think 65mph was fast enough for him. I knew he'd get on the throttle as soon as he got on the onramp to show me. He gave up after seeing me still there in his rearview mirror.
  • Guy in a 335i coupe. Curiosity got the better of me and was surprised to see I could keep up. Not a douche like the two above, so we kept it cool.
I've since avoided taking this route as it is far too open and straight. Must resist temptation.

I believe they are pretty heavy compared to that giant V8 motor they have.

Haven't ran into one of them yet.

Wait, do you have a stage 2 STI or WRX? If it's an STI you should be able to outrun a 335i (even if you were stock you could probably outrun him). Unless he had some kind of Dinan package or something. I managed to beat a 550i with that big 360HP V8 by a carlength.
