IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | In the six months I've had my car, I've only raced one car. It wasn't much of a race... A 20mph roll against a 95 Taurus SHO put me ahead a few cars and then mashed the brakes to get caught at the light just to make fun of the guy for driving a Taurus (he was my friend). When spring comes along, I want to line up my 95 SHO to my (soon to be) 20G STi at about 40mph and see which one pulls away. Honestly, I'll be depressed if the SHO doesn't pull away. |

| Amateur STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | My car is completely stock except for cobb AP stage 1 map and I ve walked all over a c5 vette at a light, didn even lauch. I pulled on a e46 M3 by a car length or so up to 80 or so till the next light. I dropped a launch at the next light and he had some real trouble keeping up. The other day on the highway an R32 VW merges in, sees me and just guns it, so i look in my rear view and do the same. I passed no prob and proceeded to pull on him some car lengths until i had to slow down. I will say the only car I have been beaten by was a WRENCHED audi s4. we were both on the ramp getting on the highway im behind him and he just pulled away like a bat out of hell. Id say that car was pullin and easy 500hp+ |

You've got me kinda lost too. They buddy I was racing owned his own SHO, so I raced his. I also have a 95 SHO that I plan to race against my STi. I'm not going to bother racing from a dig as we already know which car will win. The SHO is FWD and wouldn't catch back up until after the 1/4 mile. My SHO is 'lightly modded'. | |

My SHO has a bit more motor than my STi. (see dyno below - this is with 91 octane, and electrical short found later, no secondaries and NO tune) I've had my STi for about 6 months and I have a pretty good idea what it can do from a roll and dig. In short, my SHO has top end.... Quote:
Believe it or not, I know quite a few Taurus SHO's that will lay down a beating on an STi... Although a modded STi will almost always be 'quicker' through anything under a quarter mile. This turbo SHO (video below) ran a 138 or 139mph in the half mile out here in NE. For reference, two stock C6 ZO6's ran 134ish. He is planning on 200 MORE ft-lbs of torque at the wheels next year. Here are some older videos of his car. vs 12 second GTP... vs CTS-V A dyno of MY SHO... A SLOW day at Bandimere. You can hear me breake and axle in the first race... The other SHO (tan) is a REMOTE mount turbo and has a best of 13.4 at Bandimere. His clutch is slipping in the first race... However, a quick pull on the pedal adjusted the cable and he ran the rest of the night. I think I also have a video on MySpace where an STi couldn't catch up to me on a road course when I was on street tires and my stock, but boosted motor. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2007 | uhhh..umm i kinda dont really have anything positive to say..goodluck with that project..tho. As for the caddy etc run one modded not bone stock because that car is way heavier than your sho and with the sho puttin 388 to the wheels compared to what the caddy puts to the wheels STOCk it no surpise it won. that 400hp/395 is to the crank on the cts no wheels.. so its really not making it look fast.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | Let me guess, STi >*? Com'on, be a 'car guy'. You don't realize how much power these motors are capable of (unsupported mid-80's technology - stock crank and rods are good to over 800hp)... That SHO is shooting for the 10's and is already trapping 120+ mph. Either way, it's a car, and we like cars, right? The difference in weight isn't as much as you would think, probably <200 lbs. The last pull was CONSIDERABLY faster than the Caddy. Try pulling away from a similar car on the highway with your STi and see the difference. That video was taken when the CTS-V just came out. The pegged speedo was in excess of 140mph and I know for a fact that the turbo SHO has been in excess of 170mph (GPS verified) and I know he's boosting 25+ PSI now. The Caddy owner in the video used to be a SHO owner and still frequents the SHO boards. My SHO is no longer a project. It's been 'complete' for a few years now. I'm only limited by my pulley size now. The blower is capable of 1,200 CFM, I think the 20G is capable of half that. I may convert to E85 next year Also, since people can't seem to keep things straight. MY SHO is the red Vortech supercharged SHO. The white (now maroon) turbo SHO is my buddy Tim's in Oklahoma. I don't know what turbo he has on it now. Oh well, it's just a Taurus... I'll go drive my Impreza now. |
