I'm sure that he, like all of us who carry in our car, put our guns out of sight & in some sort of locked compartment when we're not in it. Or we just move it over to our carry holster on our person, and go on our way.

i appreciate your enthusiasm for this rig but, as i said on another thread i personally think it is a bad idea. i'll take your word that it cannot be seen while you are in the seat but it is otherwise way too visible. when you inform a cop that you are armed and you spread your knees apart to show him where it is located, i believe some, if not most cops, will react viscerally to the fact that he walked up on you with the gun that accessible and he did not know it.

i hope i'm wrong and i'm sure you'll let me know if i am after a few stops (isfh).

Jag are you ex-military? I used to have a good friend who was a marine and when he came back from somalia that guy had like knives and guns stashed throughout his car. Funny thing is is that he lived in Plano (in dallas) i can assure you that is the last place on earth you need carry all those weapons.

In any case I think being in the military really changed the way he felt about life. I could tell he was like borderline paranoid. When the cops pulled him over speeding they gave him hell for all the weapons he had in the car.

The other prob with carrying the gun is that if someone tries to hijack your car while you are in it, and you brandish a handgun, you can very easily get yourself into a situation where you can exchange gunshots. More than likely you will be injured, if not killed, even if you you manage to deter your assailant somewhat.

Also, i think the strap would cause discoloration because it will prevent the UV radiation from fading the material under the strap. That being said, if it doesn't get in your way driving i think its a pretty clever way to hide/mount it.

Why do people think that nothing bad can happen in their town, do people watch the news. So psyco killed 6 kids in Lancaster, PA which is predominately Amish and a very decent country town. S*** can happen anywhere. At my school in Philadelphia there are kids from around the neighborhood that thinks its cool to try to rob college kids by threatening them with a 2x4 with nails sticking out the end of it. I think they would change their mind when threatened back with a firearm. Take in mind these kids are only 16 but you can tell they were raised right at a young age.

Sorry for the rant.

but thats the east coast...people expect sociopathic packs of youths armed with nailed 2x4's, random muggings etc. Its so spontaneous. But thats kids for you....spontaneous.

Out here in WA we homegrow serial killers...Bundy, Green River Killer etc. Takes more time....years of abusive childhood, years of unsolved killings....years to catch them and then they write a book in prison.

don't carry a gun because you might exchange shots? that's the entire point; if you are armed you can actually EXCHANGE shots rather than baaaaaaaaaing like a sheep. i vote for returning fire if/when you are able to.

More power to you and good luck at the hospitol. So many people think that they can just act like rambo and start swapping fire and avoid getting hurt because they are more 1337 shooters because they go to a gun range and know how to shoot their gun.

There are almost 300 million people living in this country and naturally by the law of numbers the chance is there for something to happen like what happened to those poor amish folks up north albeit extremely rare. If you have the kind of mentality that carrying a concealed handgun would have helped those kids i think you would be wrong. What that implies is that the amish teachers should have been carrying handguns on their person during class. This is pretty absurd for obvious reasons. Secondly, i bet the guy who went into the school actually had a gun permit lol.

Biggest problem with guns is that the media has scared the hell out of americans and make them believe there is a "killer" in every neighborhood of every city in this country. Im 32 years old and have never seen or been near anyone who has had a gun pulled on them. 8 years of my life were spent growing up in New orleans which had the notorious distinction of being the murder capitol of the USA.

The only time I've seen a gun pulled on anybody was from a neighbor in an apartment complex i lived in in Dallas. He was a good guy but really troubled. He had a gun permit and concealed weapon permit. Instead of using it on a would-be thug he turned it on his wife and then himself in front of his children. I helped those kids out that apartment and tried to take care of his wife cause she as still breathing when i found them. It was worse damn thing i have ever seen.

I love guns and i used to go to my buddy's property to shoot at targets in the field but i don't own one and never will. If you are into hunting and target shooting thats fine. Keep them locked up and away from the kiddies when you are not using them but please don't venture into the world like doc holliday and think you are the quickest draw out there.

That is true, but I don't really think it's any "worse" so to speak than actually carrying on your person. If I ever get stopped, I think i'll have both of my hands out the window when the officer approaches so he knows that I am not a threat in the least bit.

In my experience, Florida police officers are very friendly to law abiding citizens with concealed weapons licenses.
