IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | I was just running seaches for a few things and always seem to run across a goup of members I have never heard of before. Since I havent been here for quite a year, what is the usual member turnover rate like? Members that come to mind when I first signed up where (in no particular order and I am sure I misspelled/missed a few) SVT Amateur Pitcherman Klaymon WBD Crewchief DaveNow Snowboarder WRX Eat V8 Bruce Clarque Brewpubeaver nhluhr Ultimate Lurker EvilSTi7 - because he whined about it! I dont post as often as I used to, but it seems the longer members have their cars, the less they post. Any ideas on the reason for this? Running out of mods? Getting bored with the car? Your smarter than everyone else that is still on the forum because you have learned everything already ? Moved on to bigger and better things? Just curious as some of the names from threads in 2003 you never really see anymore.Last edited by fourseasonsandles; 06-26-2006 at 12:37 PM.. |

| S204 Racer Feedback Score: 1 reviews | So is the list above people that you still see active or you think we've dropped off the map? I think some people post less or leave because they sell the car and don't feel that they "belong" anymore (I'd probably do the same, though). |

| Drive True Feedback Score: 0 reviews | eh? I'm here plenty...oh yeah I tend to post alot more in OT now. I don't have an STi and don't plan on buying one until I have enough money saved up to pay for it in one lump sum. Don't want to carry a payment and pay interest on it. When I first signed on to the website, the STi had not come over to our shores yet, and we weren't even sure if it ever would at first. So it was alot of speculation, and my knowledge was pretty much the same as everyone else, except for the insiders. Now, people who have STi's know alot more than I do, so I just use the search button since the knowledge base has increased so much. I have a feeling that is what has happened to some of the members who were formerly a lot more active. So mostly I just lurk around and see if people are being courteous and what not on the forums. | STI Master Feedback Score: 6 reviews | I'm still here.....but I don't post as much as I used to just because it seems that there is a lot of repitition on the site and I just get tired of posting the same answers. Chris |

| S204 Racer Feedback Score: 3 reviews | I'm not on the list but i definitely don't post as often as I used to simply because I know that there are many more people who can answer most of the repeat questions that come up. I'm with Snowboarder, the community has changed considerably since the early days when it was a much older and mature crowd who were typically already Subaru owners and were buying the STi for themselves because they wanted a stripped down dedicated performance car. Now the majority of new members seem to be much younger who are not typically buying the STi with their own money and are more interested in how it looks, sounds and the comfort and ICE gizmos than the track times it returns. I'm definitely seeing a "Mustangification" of the STI and the entire Subaru community. It's inevitible, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Just my feel of the current community. I still contribute when no one else seems to want to help or if I see a thread where I can share some of my years of performance driving then I will post up. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | I still see posts from you guys now and then. I talked to SVT a bit ago and was harassing him because he doesnt post as much anymore. The list is just of people that I remembered when I first joined. I would see their posts quite often. Some have dropped off.. others havent. Klaymon just stalks us like the secret police SVT has become the Welcoming committee Snowboarder WRX is just an OT whore DaveNow was banned.. I knew that Bruce chimes in now and then when there is a debate on a fast car It is just interesting to see the turnover rate, but I dont think that I would post much if I didnt own the car anymore either. Sniffle.. I am losing my only friends...JK! ha! |
