The jack@$$ of the day award goes to Mr. Z06 who wanted to show his wife that he's faster than my STi.

I am merging on the freeway, taking my time as I'm about to enjoy a yahoo drive in my weekend car when this jerk passes me on the right hand shoulder, mind you it's a construction zone. A big cloud of dust, debries and all the other crap comes underneath his car and streams along the side of my car.

I tried to call the cops on him, but they didn't answer the phone.

I get next to him and he's laughing at me.

Hope he crashes soon.

That sucks man. I would think someone who bought a z06 and understands its power wouldn have a little self-control. I guess there is always some drivers who no matter what car will never grow up.

On another note, do you have any tips or things you suggest reading before I purchase/learn how to polish my car. After the ash that covered my parents cars, and I got a little on mine, I really want to do full details on all of them when I go home, and figure I could always practice polishing the daily driver hehe. Thanks!

there are idiots driving all sorts of cars unfortunately.

saw i nice new z06 today, waiting at the lights next to me. i was going straight, he was making a left. he gets the green first and takes off "in a hurry". no spinning tires or anything that doesn't belong on the streets, just enjoying his car that thing sounded nice, stock exhaust as far as i could tell.

i'll let peleg answer in more detail, but one thing that i learned while trying to "properly" detail a car is, pick the right products. if you don't have an electric buffer, pick products that won't leave you with sore muscles for two weeks

Polishing can be done in a few ways, depending on the condition of the paint and what you're trying to achieve.

For swirl marks, a polisher such as the Porter 7424 with a mild pad and anti swirl is what you want.

If the paint is really old and dull and you're trying to restore it, a harder pad is requires and a polish such as Meguiar's #2. This is for really old cars.

For newer cars, if you have no swirl marks, you can go with a final polish. (after you washed and claybared the car ofcourse)

Final polish is designed to bring the shine out in the paint. Then you top if off with your favorite wax.

Final polish can also be applied by hand, but it won't have the same effect as if you were to use a polisher.

As for the polishing itself, you work 1-2 feet area at a time with the polisher. YOu then let the polish come to a haze and buff it off with a microfiber towel.

I can show you how to do this someday if you'd like.

Thanks a lot Peleg, it would be awesome to see a master at work! I am just a bit nervous applying the polisher on my paint. I do have a lot of swirl marks, even though I had some parts repainted 1 year ago. I actually applied zaino 8 months ago, and really liked the results, but really want to get the wet look it used to have. I have really wanted to polish my parent's cars for a long time, and know I don't have the strength to do them all by hand, haha.

MBC and CAI installed! Ed's limp mode map deployed (EQ - 91 Limp TBE + MBC + 65mm CAI.ptm). Can't wait to get road turned next weekend!

APS 65mm CAI, what a pain in the ass. Had to use a sheetmetal nibbler and enlarge the hole in the fender. Cleaned it up with a dremel and sanding wheel. It's not so much getting the pipe in the hole, but it's rotating it into position that's nearly impossible. I scratched the **** out of the red coating. It's a good thing it was used and already heavily scratched. However the worst part is this whole install ordeal is that my Amsoil replacement filter (EAAU3570) appears to be too large as I can't rotate it deep enough into the fender and it is currently creating a bulge in the fender liner. It's driving me nuts.

Good news is that the car sounds awesome with the new intake....love hearing the BPV....enjoying the sound of the APS catless TBE as well now....

Well, unfortunately most of them end up being Z06 drivers. They can't seem to see another sports car/fast car around without doing something to "prove" their superiority. My friend calls it the "Corvette Syndrom", my view of this car and most of its owners is totally blown.

I hope this guy does it again and wrecks and then I'd like to see if he will be laughing.

P.S: I was calling 911 on this asshole and all I got was a stupid recording from the CHP, what a bunch of bs.

Then I drive to work in my little puny integra and I get a ticket for passing someone.
