IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | So, not that I have money, but am thinking about the future. Do you think its wise to invest $300 into cleaning supplies for my car. I have clay, and zaino already, but my car is heavily swirled. I mean really really bad. I wanted to get it done professionally but the cost is near the amount of me just buying my own stuff and spending a day. The only reason I think I will buy the stuff is I know a black car will get dirty very quickly, so if I pay $300 now it will at least last a few sessions of cleaning. On the other hand, I can get one professional session done. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? I mean I can always use the tools on my family's cars so its not like a mod for just my car. IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (9) | Well only got the front end done today Ran into some little problems along the way. Top hat was like crooked, which made it a little more fun to play with. On the passenger side we kind of started to strip the strut bolt and nut so I had to run out and use a thread pitch file thing. After fixxing that issue I decided a spring compressor would be better to use. So I tried to rent one, they had none to rent. It was $45 or spend a few minutes around 5ish to look for an open shop to help with the spring compressor and strut assembly. After driving form place to place for 25 minutes I found a car shop complex asked a guy if he would be willing to hekp out for like $10 to compress and put it all back together and he said yeah. Well si, he spoke spanish, after all was almost said and done he said "I speak english too" I was speaking to him in spanglish so that was Anyways darkonion over at i-club had to get back home to take his dad out to dinner. So after about 2 hours of tinkering with the frint end and 1 hour or so of driving around my car was done. One concern now is my ABS Light is on in the Dash So going to take it easy and not do anything crazy until I figure out what the deal is there. I think I am going to have a shop do the rear and check out the front as well and align that bugger. Either that or wait for someone else to help me do the rear and then align the car.-Gio |

(never thought i would contribute one of those...) the manual seems to be pretty self explanatory. it is just the matter of me being able to pull it off without f'n anything up. it seems pretty simple.... but that usually means something is gonna be a pita. i should definitely have another person helping me out. i know myself well though. once it arrives, i am going to want to install it immediately. ![]() we shall see. how long could this possibly take? an hour or 2 at the most? | |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | ABS light means you probably clipped an abs line thats attached to the strut. Or the sensor wasnt attached properly. The front bumper is pretty easy to take off if i remember right, just take your time with it and it helps if you have a second set of hands to hold the other side so it doesnt twist it. Friend's 21st birthday was meh but i ended up going to the movies before that to see wall-e, was a great movie. Very sentimental. For now im at another friend's house which im probably going to leave soon because i think his gf is tired and i think they want to go to bed. |

Kit, we did not remove any sensors, but we kind of moved the wires around to get in and out of the area. Might of bumped it hard enough for it to do that, just have to wait and see. Hopefully I will stillbe able to use my car, rather then having to take it in and have it looked at. Like I said before ABS or lack of it don't bother me, just hope it don;t do something weird on me y0! -Gio |
