HAHA OMG that is the best idea ive heard today. I'm going to do that tomorrow.

oh my... looks like the little girl knows how to escape now.

i put her to bed, sit down in the couch, watch some tv, a few minutes later i hear "Daddy!"... but it's not coming from the baby monitor, it's coming from behind me.

there she was, standing in front of the stairs

she had climbed out of her crib, and walked down the stairs without making too much noise so i could not hear it until she said something (and that monitor is pretty damn sensitive)

i put her back in her crib. move her little table that was pretty close to it away (i thought he might have used that as a step to get out)

close her door this time.

10 minutes later, i hear some commotion on the baby monitor... she's knocking on the door and yelling "DOOR! DOOR!"

it's going to be fun the next couple of nights...

but i still don't understand how she can get out without:
a) making noise
b) not hurting herself, it's a pretty long way down over the railing

time to invest in a wireless baby cam with night vision! its only like 100-150$ for a handheld system.

and again this morning, instead of making noise so i come and get her. she walks into our bedroom ... "Daddy!"

i'm going to start closing her door. she doesn't know how to open those yet.

When Dylan started this we got him into a toddler bed. It was a fire truck and not the race car bed I wanted.

They have those sleeves that go over door-knobs too. So when she learns to get passed the door you can throw that into the mix to slow her down.

we got the superdeluxe crib that transforms into a toddler bed. no need to buy a new one.
i don't think that she's ready for that just yet. maybe i should put a cover on it, and turn it into a real jail

the door knobs are still to high, she can touch them, but that's it. i think we're still safe there for a few more months

i think this is the hottest it has been in the city since i moved here. our intranet shows the temp as 95!
