IF I'M UNDERSTANDING EVERYTHING CORRECTLY ABOUT BOOST CONTROL, don't quote me on this one maybe mike@gst can chime in and tell us what's up about that...i'm not positive at all
is that how they work?
i assumed (yes, i don't know waht i'm talking about) that they work alongside of your boost solenoid, and not in place of it. am i wrong?

It's preference is all. A manual boost controller controls boost on an EWG super properly. The only con is you can't run a tapering boost curve, which most don't want to do anyways...

A MBC replaces a EBC, yes. It's solely mechanical.

J.

i was told there was a way to use both, and that the utec has a way to control overboosting even if you have a mbc...idk about that

but anyway, yah it's one or the other...people running a ewg will benefit much more because of the simple ball and spring (as mike tells me), it's just simplicity of boost control at it's best. All mechanical!

vs. using solenoids that must flick on/off whatev...

problem with ewg and mbc's is that regardless of load, conditions, etc. your car will go to target boost...no way around it..

the ebc will achieve target boost, but can be programmed(avcr) to not do certain thing's in certain situations

IF I HAVE THIS RIGHT, AGAIN; HOPEFULLY MIKE CAN CHIME IN or STEVE

It does...as was said like 30 times on this page.

Are you definite on having GST tune your car with these mods? How many tunes are you looking to get prior to the Green?
