Default What was your car before the STi?

Hi all,
I thought you might get a kick out of this. Believe it or not, my last car b4 my 2005 STi was a 1991 black on black Lincoln Town Car! I think it's the exact opposite (car) to the STi. It was like sailing a boat and the STi is like driving a race car.

Well, what were you all driving b4 your STi? Any former Town Car owners?

Later gators,
JohnG

I had a 1989 Chevy Suburban. Then I had a 1997 Audi A4 1.8T before the STi. I loved that car, modded it a fair amount, and it was the car that got me into cars and motorsports.

'93 Ford Probe GT - totaled - T-boned in a parking garage
'88 Nissan Pulsar NX/SE - totaled - rear ended
'83 Toyota Celica - totaled - slid off the road thanks to some nasty black ice
'83 Dodge Challenger (a re-badged Mitsubishi) totaled - driving like a 16 year old in the snow

Non of these accidents were serious, but the cars weren't worth much, hence all the totaling.

It's my first car.. Been a motorcycle guy for 15 years of driving.
1999 BMW R1200C
1994 Yamaha Virago 1150
1981Yamaha Virago 750 midnight special
ok so I had a 1981 dodge omni when I was 16 for 1 year but I figure it doesn't count as the motor was about the size of a bike motor..

Ya, it never really occurred to me that all my cars have come to grief until just now. I was about a month away from trading in my Probe GT for the STi when I got T-boned. It all worked for the best because the insurance gave me $3k and the trade in value was only about $1k.

another 02 WRX wagon here.
and a 99 Miata.

was going to get another WRX when the wagon lease ran out, but decided to sell the Miata to justify getting into an STi. There will probably be another Miata in my future, but I am happy for now... :P

I came from a 97 M3 coupe. Great car, but was starting a get a little long in the tooth. Before that, I had a 98 Eclipse GS-T. And several other cars before that not worth mentioning.

Crappy pic:
