It didn't even cross my mind. I will have to go check it out tomorrow

don't get a mini.
too small and unsafe, would you want your wife in an accident in that thing? i think not.

Small doesn't necessarily mean unsafe.

My GF has a Mazda 3 and loves it. She did not like the Mini because the lack of space in the trunk made it less useful for her job. After 3 years of ownership she still has the 3 and its holding up well.

+1 on the GTI.

I priced one out for fun and it's pretty loaded at 28k. You can get them in 4 door too, which you can't with the mini unless it's the Clubman... which is fugly...

If I remember correctly the Mini comes with a 5year 50k miles warranty. The Mazda came with 3 years 36k miles.
My girl has the Mazda 3 i Touring 4 door sedan automatic. The handling is pretty good for a car in this class. I actually do not mind driving it. Right now there is a 36 mos. 0% APR if you qualify.

Mini requires Premium fuel. Mazda 3 takes Regular fuel.

Mazda's warranty is:

Bumper to Bumper
36 months or 36,000 miles

Powertrain
60 months or 60,000 miles

I just came from the dealer, and put a down payment on a new fully loaded Pepper white Mini Cooper S + a 3 year inclusive free service. The price drifted 2800 dollars above my budget with all the options, but I recon its worth it.
I might want to drive this car more than my wife now.
I'll post pics soon.

You could have had the Lexus for that.. nobody pays retail on them.

Yes I totally agree. Not only that. But the lexus is more spacious, more reliable, almost as good mpg, and so much more. With the Lexus you get more for what you pay.
It was a very tough decision, between the IS250, mini, and Audi A4.
but what it came down to was what my wife really wanted, and at the end of the day we both found ourselves talking more about the Mini and how cool and funky it is.
We bought that car with our hearts and not our heads.

BMW's marketing has paid off... its the new older womens sports car.

I have not heard the word "funky".. in a long time.

Here in Germany the only folks I see driving them are those 40 yr old single secretary's.. that think they are in their 20's.

Anyways sounds like you guys will love it and thats what matters. Have Fun
