Some of you guys know Crewchief as being an Air Force member. Well guess what, so am I and I finally got orders out of this hell hole South Carolina. I'm headed to RAF Mildenhall. I'm pretty excited about it and I thought I'd share.

Good luck keeping your sanity paying tax just to watch tv, among a thousand other things. My wife spent 4 years there, and it wasn't all its cracked up to be.

My friend is at Lakenheath and has warned me of all the BS taxes and crap I'll have to put up with. I'm still pumped though.

how long are you going to be there? When I was in the Army, I was stationed in germany for 3 years..... best 3 years in my life!!!

I hope they are paying your salary in English pounds sterling, otherwise you just took a 50% cost of living pay cut.

I'll get COLA which is a cost of living allowance that will help the situation and we plan on the wife getting a job on the economy...she'll make bank!

Better start saving up.. very expensive.

I'm also pretty sure that your wife will not be allowed to work for a british firm unless she is british. Thats the new EU rules.. You would have to prove she posses something no one else can do to get a wavier.

Well I've finally arrived! This place is pretty awesome. When I get my household goods and settle in, I'll post some pics of a Badarse WRX I came across 2 weeks ago in Bury St. Edmunds. The guy said he had the car "done up" by Prodrive...and I must admit that it is wicked. Right hand drive, fully built, prodrive goodies through-out...sounded like a beast coming through the parking lot.
