To answer a few questions, once you brake the law, unless you are within your own home, the police have the right to stop and ticket you. And whether its fair or not, the OP admitted to speeding in his original statement. That gives the cop cause to stop and ticket.

Actually kind of coincidence that I saw this thread today, it kind of happened to me a few minutes ago.

I got home from the gym, and 5 minutes later two police cars show up. They saw the 911 parked at the end of the driveway and said that someone called in that there was a loud car being obnoxious going down the street. Just shows that they can do anything even with you in your driveway, and they weren't even the ones who saw me doing anything.

If you had started, stayed, and ended in your driveway it would have been a different situation. As it was, you could have been cited for stuff you did on the public road regardless of if you dashed into home and yelled, "SAFETIES!"

i think it comes with the car. especially if you speed you stick out like a sore thumb. im not saying your wrong, you did the right thing, but with our car, and the cops these days, get used it. . . .. .

Ok just forget it. I was told by people that there supposed to pull you over in public areas if they see somethings wrong. If she wanted to pull me over, put on your lights as soon as i pulled out. Don't tail me for a block 1 phucking foot from my rear trying to intimidate me. My point here was that act neccesary? It's that kinda stuff that pisses me off and they think they can get away with it. I'm not badmouthing all cop's, but if my local town's station ever burned to the ground i wouldn't give a crap.

sounds like you intimidated your way out of a ticket. I'm pretty sure if you had a traffic violation out on the street they can follow you home and ticket you. Your driveway is not the equivalent of home-base in freeze tag.
