Wow, people are seriously AWFUL

So tonight I was driving my S70 over to 7/11 in the next town with my best friend Sarah. We get there, get our drinks, and go. I headed in a direction that would have taken too long to get home as we both have work in the morning so I turned around. I really wish I hadn't.

While we were driving, a 6 or 7 pound rock was thrown threw my passenger side window, hitting Sarah in the back of the head and shattered the glass all over the both us. Sarah was in shock, literally, so I had to stop, turn around, and just drive straight to the ER so I didn't even have time to see if I could see anyone.

Sarah is fine, just has a huge bump on her head and scratches all over her body from the glass. I'm thoroughly freaked. And my baby is out of service for a few days while my dad and I replace the window

In conclusion, people suck.

Anyone have any stories similar so I know I'm not alone?

Thats actually the first thing that we did! When I was driving to the ER there was thankfully a policeman who was driving in front of us so I high beamed him an honked until he stopped. Really nice guy who helped a lot.

After I left the ER while Sarah was having her scan I went down to the police station and talked to the same officer who got me a case file and it's now a ABDW (Assault & Battery w/ Dangerous Weapon) and Vandalism of a Motor Vehicle. I'm well aware nothing will ever come of the case but it makes me feel better knowing that the police are aware of what happened.

I knew Sarah was ok when she told me she wanted to keep the rock and frame it just in case we ever found out who it was. That way not only cold we throw the rock at them but a frame as well for embarrassment.

Wtf is wrong with people today. This reminds me of the lady that almost died when some a**hat throw a frozen turkey out their window while driving or those fools in NYC that were dropping bricks off a walkway onto the highway.

I hope you find this person and give them back the rock...with interest.

Glad Sarah is essentially okay. Some genius killed a guy by dropping a rock off of an overpass in Illinois a few years ago. Fortunately, the genius was caught and is now in jail.

A few years ago my parents were driving on a road right behind our house when someone shot a paintball gun at the passenger window. If my mom's window had not been up it would have hit her in the face. Never found out who did it.

wow thats terrible, but good to hear that she and yourself are ok.

i have not experienced this however, one of my friends was driving down a local, rather busy road. he noticed a car coming up behind him quickly, he couldnt move over to the side so he sped up a little and the car proceeded to ride his bumper.

at the next lite the driver pulled up on the shoulder, the guy rolls his window down, releases a slew of obscenities and pulled out a handgun, shot out his rear window and sped off thru the red light.

this was about 5 yrs ago...

pretty scarry stuff

glad u r both ok

Glad to hear you guys are ok. People have vandalized my car but not when I'm driving it in the middle of a street. Ive had a brick thrown throw my passanger window at night which caused a good 2000$ worth of damage. But I wasnt in the car. I dont know what is going on with this world nowadays but its not getting any better.
