Default problem with a nocturnal animal....

Here's the story. I live in an apartment complex and have a carport that I park in whenever I'm home. Last weekend, I washed, claybarred, and waxed my car. But the last few nights I have gone to my car in the morning to find muddy footprints going up the hood to the roof. Apparently something small, possibly a cat or something, has been climbing onto my car and sleeping on the roof at night. Of course it has left some surface scratches. Nothing that I can't buff out though.

So what should I do to get rid of this thing?

On a side note, this thing had done this a few times last summer too but then disappeared - apparently it just likes sleeping on my car during cool summer nights.

Put Cayenne pepper around your car at night.

I was thinking about something like that - should I maybe put it directly on the car or just around it? It would be a lot of cayenne to leave an entire circle around the car.

they make sprays that cats don't like the smell of, so you might try spraying that around your parking lot (i wouldn't recommend spraying the paint, the stuff I've seen is in the same chemical family as acetone)

Also, cats are territorial animals so you might try pissing a ring around your car. the testosterone in your pee should keep them away.

I can see myself now - drunk one night and standing in the apartment parking lot, walking and pissing at the same time in a horrible oval shape.

Watch out for them sprays all my animals seem to love them. My dog wouldnt stop chewing on the door way. Got the dog spray version and he loved it thought it was candy and chewed more. Cat wouldnt stay off the couch got the spray it went up there and rolled in it to spite me i think.

Piss does stain asphalt odly enough. So you will have a perm piss ring in your spot marking it yours. Should keep anything and everyone away lol
