Yes it is. It was a "job-friendly" alternative to smoking. Thanks.

I work in the medical field and I've heard good things about it. Just make sure to follow the dosages very strictly.

+1

I have heard of some people getting extremely nauseous and with extreme bouts of vomiting within the first 24 hours of taking it though. Other than that, I know of several people that have been very successful at quitting using it.

I am "sort of" in the medical field, and in a field where a lot of people chew over smoke because of the pulmonary effects of smoking. A friend quit last year on Chantix, so I am hopeful it will work with me as well. I started it at 630 this morning. I feel a little "off" but no nausea or vomiting...yet.

UPDATE: I quit Monday. To be honest, it has not been bad at all. Lots of gum, lots of other things to keep busy. Today is the fourth day. No nausea, no real ill-effects at all.

My point in posting this here is that if anyone here uses tobacco and wants to quit, seriously look at Chantix!

Talk to your doctor. It is tough, don't get me wrong, but this stuff is unreal. A good friend quit last year with it and it worked great for him too. It's 1/2 mental and 1/2 physical. Chantix helps with the physcial. Seriously give it a shot, man I feel SO much better!

Read it this AM. I think there is a little more to the story than what is stated in that article.

My sister in law is a rep for Pfizer and this is one of the drugs she sells. She says it's amazing how many people quit who use it. It is fairly expensive, but so is smoking so you gotta think of it as an investment both in your health and your finances.

I agree boxtwo that there is more to the story but I figured that I would post it so that you know about it and that you have all the available information before making a decision.

Copy that, much appreciated! I've been taking the stuff for 10 days or so. They do mention some psycholoigical side-effects, but I have not had anything...yet!
