I pay $35/month which is FAR less than the crap I was buying. Increased "gum" purchase, but I have minty breath all the time, so it pays for itself! The way I feel is SO much better it is amazing. After 2-3 days the nicotine is out of your body and I could literally feel the "cleansing." I drank lots of water and just kept busy. I am so much more aware of everything now.

The only thing I've heard about it is that it can give you nightmares. My aunt took it for a month and she said it really messed with her head.

I'm going to look into this. I tried chew in 7th grade, and have been a user since 10th grade (now a junior in college). I'm up to more than a tin a day, I need to quit. Plus, $6.30 for a tin of Skoal Cherry is brutal on the wallet.

I've had a few dreams that I can remember, but no nightmares. I think they can play with the dosing a little bit to help with some of the potential side-effects.

Seriously man, this stuff is worth a try. It'll take YOU making your mind up, but at some point it WILL happen. A friend got spooked with a mouth sore, that got him to quit. PM me if you have questions!

The weight gain comes from trying to fill the time. I have found that I am more likely to eat more frequent, smaller meals. I have also been working out quite a bit. My heart rate went from the 70's in the AM to the upper 50's after my drive to work. The benefits of quitting tobacco outweigh the risks of increased weight.

I throw every so often, but holy ****! More than a tin a day I can hardly believe that.

Yeah, it's getting bad. I work part time while in school, and the other day I grabbed a tin 20 minutes before work. 4 and a half hours later, I had MAYBE half a pinch left.

My father smoked for 50+ years, trying to quit numerous times using nicorette, the patch and wellbutrin and nothing worked. He took chantix last november and hasn't smoked since.

Good Luck.

Wow, that's promising!!! The problem with me is that I'll get hard into chew, then quit for a month or so, then I'm back again. I work in a manufacturing plant part-time in the machine shop and I run 2 CNC machines, so I get bored and we're allowed to chew so I'll do it to pass the time. Then, when school rolls around again, I'll be bored in the dorm and I'll do it, at autocrosses, etc.

UPDATE: Done with the 12 week med course. No tobacco since! If anyone is looking to quit, Chantix is pretty sweet!

The meds run for twelve weeks. For the 3 boxes (4 weeks per box) I spent a total of $105 (35/box.) As for gum and this mint stuff, maybe another $50 on top of that. So for less than $200 and 3 months of my time, I am done with tobacco.

Good luck man, seriously. PM me if you want.

I started it and once I hit the 1mg pills I had extreme nausea. So bad that I WANTED to vomit but never did. I also had very vivid dreams and they were so vivid that they would wake me up multiple times during the night. I've cut back from 2 packs a day to 10 cigarettes a day but, had to quit taking it as it was killing my work ethic, life, etc.

I felt very depressed as well while on it. I didn't care about anything or anyone. I might give it another go in the future but, not at the moment.
